Planning a trip to Marrakech Morocco Tours
These are the tours that start in Marrakech. They all leave the city the same way — over the Tizi n'Tichka pass into the south — and then diverge depending on how long you have.
Three days gets you to the dunes and back, with Aït Ben Haddou on the way out. Six to eight days turns that into a proper circuit through the Dades and Todra gorges, often finishing in Fes or Tangier rather than doubling back. Eleven days and beyond adds the Atlantic coast or the far north.
If you are choosing between them, the question is not which route is best — they largely share one — but how many hours a day you want to spend in the car. The shorter the tour, the longer the driving days.
Questions about Marrakech Morocco Tours
How many days do I need from Marrakech to see the desert?
Three days is the honest minimum: one long drive over the Tizi n'Tichka, one night at Erg Chebbi, and a long drive back. It works, but two of the three days are spent in the car. Five to six days turns the same route into a circuit through the Dades and Todra gorges instead of a there-and-back sprint.
Do the tours end back in Marrakech?
Some do and some do not, and it is worth checking before you book flights. The 3-day trip is a round trip. Most six-day and longer routes finish in Fes or Tangier, which avoids retracing the same road and usually costs no more. If you need to fly home from Marrakech, tell us and we will close the loop.
What time do you pick up, and from where?
From your riad, hotel or Marrakech Menara airport, at a time we agree with you. Departures are usually early — the first day over the Atlas is the longest drive of the trip, and leaving late means arriving at the dunes after dark.
Can you collect me from inside the medina?
Cars cannot reach most riads inside the medina walls. We meet you at the nearest vehicle access point and help with bags from there; your riad will know the spot. Tell us the riad name when you book and we will arrange it in advance.
