Planning a trip to Morocco Desert Tours

This is every itinerary we run that reaches the Sahara, grouped in one place. They start from Marrakech, Fes, Tangier or Casablanca and they all converge on the same dunes at Merzouga — what differs is the route in, the route out, and how many days you give it.

The short answer to "how long do I need" is three days at an absolute minimum and six or more to enjoy it. A three-day tour is two long driving days either side of one desert night. At six to eight days the same road opens up: Aït Ben Haddou, the Dades switchbacks, Todra Gorge and the Ziz Valley stop being blurs between stops.

Every tour here is private. You travel with your own driver-guide in your own vehicle, and the itinerary is a starting point rather than a fixed schedule — if you want an extra night at the dunes or a slower run through the gorges, we rebuild it around that.

Questions about Morocco Desert Tours

What is included in the desert camp night?

The camel trek out at sunset, dinner and breakfast at camp, your tent for the night and the ride back in the morning. Blankets are provided. Luxury camps add en-suite bathrooms with hot water. Your itinerary page lists which camp standard applies.

Can I start in one city and finish in another?

Yes, and it is usually the better plan. Fes to Marrakech across the desert avoids retracing the same road, and costs no more than a round trip. Tell us your arrival and departure airports and we will shape the route to fit.

How many people will be in my group?

Only the people you book with. These are private departures, so the vehicle is yours — there is no minimum group size and no strangers joining.
