The road follows the river up through villages, roadside cafés built on stilts over the water, and gardens of mint and fruit trees. At Setti Fatma, at the head of the valley, a path climbs to a chain of seven waterfalls.

Can I reach all seven waterfalls?

The first is a straightforward scramble of twenty to thirty minutes. The rest need proper footwear and a head for uneven rock. Most guests do the first and turn back, which is no loss.

Is it busy?

On Fridays and at weekends, yes — this is where Marrakech goes to cool off. A weekday start before 9am gives you the valley much quieter.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, as far as the first waterfall. Beyond that the path is rocky and exposed in places.
