No. Agafay is rocky desert, not sand dunes. It gives you the camp, the silence and the stars within an hour of Marrakech; the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga are around nine hours away.

What are the camps like?

They range from comfortable to genuinely luxurious — real beds, en-suite bathrooms and heating at the better ones. Tell us your budget and we will match the camp to it.

Can we do it without staying overnight?

Yes. A sunset-and-dinner version gets you back to Marrakech the same evening.
